I initially had a fantastic experience with PRD Ballarat. I rented a beautiful, well-presented home in Ballarat Central for 12 months and was extremely happy with both the property and my landlords. They were genuinely lovely, honest people, and I have nothing but positive things to say about them. I also purchased a distressed property through PRD that was full of charm, and I'm very happy with the home itself. Unfortunately, my experience with several members of the property management and sales team was disappointing. My first property manager, Josh, failed to action a faulty dishwasher for three months after I moved in. This was especially frustrating considering I had paid my rent months in advance and helped fill the tenancy very quickly. Shari was reasonable during the tenancy, but when it came time to move out, she became unnecessarily pushy. Despite explaining that I would vacate approximately a week before the end of my lease and with my rent paid in full, I felt there was little flexibility or understanding. Although both of those staff members have since left the company, my dealings with Alister were even more disappointing. I found him to be arrogant, rude, and, at times, dishonest. When my bond refund was delayed, he attempted to blame my landlords. However, I was in direct contact with them throughout the process, and they confirmed they were not responsible for the delay. It was unfair to shift the blame onto such genuine and honest people. My experience purchasing a property through Chris also raised concerns. I submitted an offer at the lower end of the advertised price range just four days after the property was listed. Chris responded by asking me to increase my offer, so I requested a copy of the Section 32. He advised that he didn't have it yet, and it took a further two weeks before it was provided. In my view, asking buyers to negotiate before the required vendor statement is available is highly unprofessional and raises serious concerns about compliance with legal obligations. The one standout throughout the process was Brittany. She was professional, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. None of my criticisms should reflect on her performance. While I was fortunate to have wonderful landlords and I'm happy with the property I purchased, my interactions with several staff members have left me with little confidence in PRD Ballarat. Based on my experience, I would not choose this agency to sell my home or manage it as a rental.
