We recently purchased our house from Cam, and initially, the experience felt very promising. Cam was consistently in touch, providing updates and guidance. However, once our offer went unconditional, things took a turn for the worse, especially after his assistant took over. During the pre-inspection, we were assigned someone with limited experience due to Cam's direct assistant being unavailable because of illness. We raised concerns about the house's condition, noting it was abandoned, covered in spiderwebs, and quite filthy—particularly the pool, which had been sparkling during the open house. The previous owners left without cleaning, which was disappointing. We appreciated receiving written assurance from Cam's assistant that if the owners didn’t clean the entire house, including the pool, a professional cleaning service would be arranged. This gave us hope that everything would be sorted before we moved in. However, during the pre-settlement inspection, we discovered several appliances, including the gas-operated heater, were not functioning. We were again reassured that everything would be in working order, relying on Cam's word. He also assured us that cleaners would be there to ensure the house was sparkling clean at the time of handover. Upon receiving the keys at settlement and visiting the house afterward, we found it in the same dirty condition as during the pre-settlement inspection, with spider webs in the same spots. Many appliances remained non-functional, some were missing remote controls, and we discovered leaks in the bathroom. Additionally, the range hood was so dirty that oil was dripping from it, indicating that the grease filter was completely saturated. I honestly don’t understand what kind of professional cleaning that was. We immediately reached out to both Cam and his assistant to address these issues, but now, five working days later, we have yet to hear back from them. As a local, family-owned company, we had high expectations for service, especially given the significant investment we made in one of the most expensive homes in the suburb. The undisclosed leaks only add to our concerns. While we didn’t expect the house to be immaculate upon receiving the keys, we certainly didn’t anticipate having to manage cleaning, gardening, and pest control before moving in. After such a substantial investment, we were looking forward to some post-sale support. Despite this disappointing experience, we remain hopeful. We believe in the importance of community and think that with a little attention, this situation can turn around. We would greatly appreciate a call from Cam or his team to discuss how they can help us resolve these issues and restore our faith in their service.
