Mine (22) and my partners (23) experience with professionals for our first rental was disgraceful. We were approved for a house with faulty door handles and we were constantly being locked inside rooms all the time. My pregnant girlfriend was once locked in a room for over 4 hours balling her eyes out in the middle of fire season. We had to follow up countless times for 4 months with our property manager Mandy Smith who was outright rude, snarky, uncaring and shown us we were little to none on her priority list. Eventually, she went on leave and our property was temporarily in the hands of Kiah who fixed the problem within 2 days. Then there was the back door which stopped locking one day at all and I had requested this to be fixed with urgency as the house was right next to a high crime rate area. We were given countless excuses and ignored multiple times. After about 2-3 weeks of living there in an unsecured house we decided to leave the property for good. Even though they had breached the agreement on their end with failing to maintain the liveability of the property in a reasonable time and not offering us reduced rent, they still were trying to get us to sign a break of lease form and make us pay up to 4 weeks rent. This was an incredibly stressful time for us especially since we are preparing for a child and we had to find another place quickly as the house was unsafe to live in. We tried to come to an agreement and I even said we were willing to pay a reduced amount and be reasonable about this but this was declined and zero accountability was taken by them. We eventually took the landlord and Mandy to the tribunal and won which she was not happy about, but the look on her face was priceless as she was told that the responsibility was on them and they aren’t gonna get the outcome they are looking for. Even after that the landlord and Mandy still wanted more money which shows that they are just money hungry people and this is nothing but business and damage control for them. Don’t let these people walk on you, you have rights to be exercised as a tenant. This is not directed at Kiah or Alana whatsoever, they responded fast, and showed great professionalism. Absolutely what real estate agents should be.

I initially got four appraisals for my property and the range between the lowest and the highest was about 200k. Although of course price was a factor in my choice, Paul and Kate from The Professionals in Wagga Impressed me in terms of their wealth of experience, professionalism and excellent communication skills. I was away in the preceding months and Paul kept an eye on the property for me as well as dealing with council in obtaining a pool compliance certificate, which turned out to be quite tricky. Paul had a lot of contacts in the local community and so he ended up showing through some clients before the house even went to market. With skilled negotiation on Paul’s part, an agreement was reached quickly and efficiently and a solid sale was achieved at the upper end of my range. I couldn’t speak more highly of Paul. He brings an energy and a warmth to his work that is a pleasure to deal with. I was informed of every process, every step of the way. Alana was the PM we normally interacted with and she's been amazing. We also had support from Mandy who's also amazing. Alana inspected properties, on our behalf, that we were putting offers on (fellow investors please do respect their time and only ask if your offer has been accepted - with a PM inspection clause, or you are offering above asking price and know you have a great chance of success). We are yet to use them as our PM as we are still in the process of securing a property, but with the competitive rate they've provided, we don't see why not.
