If there could be much less rating I’ll definitely bring giving-5 This review relates to our experience applying for the rental property at 89 Flinders Street, East Maitland and our dealings with the property management team at The Agency Hunter Valley, including Sophie who acted in an extremely aggressive manner towards my family and in an unprofessional manner. This has honestly been one of the most upsetting and disappointing rental experiences our family has been through. We applied for this property and even offered above the advertised rental price because we genuinely needed a home and wanted to show we were serious applicants. Despite this, we were left waiting for over a week with very limited communication, minimal updates and little transparency around the process. As a family currently trying to secure stable housing with my wife due to give birth in around two months, this process carried a lot more weight than simply waiting for an outcome. We understand applications are competitive and owners make the final decision — however communication, professionalism and basic consideration for applicants should still be expected. Our experience dealing with Courtney and Sophie left us feeling unheard and overlooked during an already stressful time. It wasn’t the outcome itself that was disappointing — it was how the process was handled and the lack of communication throughout. One thing agencies should remember is that tenants do not stay tenants forever. Many go on to become homeowners, investors and landlords. Experiences like this influence who people choose to work with in the future and who they refer — or don’t refer — to family, friends and business contacts. Property management is more than processing applications — it affects real people and real families. We walked away feeling genuinely hurt, disappointed and let down by this experience. Any future landlords do not trust this agency with your rental property.
